All about me

Hi! I am Advika Pokharel and I am currently 19 years old pursuing my CIS degree as a second year student at MRU. Although I was born in Denver, Colorado, I have been living in Calgary, Alberta my entire life. During my high school years, I was given the option to explore many STEM related cources such as graphic design, visual media, and basics of Python as I went to a science charter school. There, I realized my curiosity for how technology works and how it fits into today's world as it is growing everyday.

Last year, I completed Introduction to Programming and Problem Solving (COMP 1701), where I used my high school Python experience to understand new concepts like for loops and file handling, while also gaining a small introduction to Java. In this semester, I hope to learn the main ideas of web development by creating a functionable and accessible website that is user-focused. Furthermore, carrying these skills within my 4 year program and career to ultimately expand my creative background to solve complex problems and build innovative.
